Anegada day trip

For those of you who just simply love to travel, relax and of course eat, Capitol Air has just what you need.  We have created a very special trip to "Heaven at the end of the World".  Each week we take 8 lucky people to the island of Anegada in the British Virgin Islands.  For the incredibly low price of $175, we take you on a flightseeing trip of the BVI island chain, pay for your ground transportation to/from Cow Wreck Beach and pay your departure taxes.

This magical day starts when you check in at the very friendly, modern and comfortable, air-conditioned St. Thomas Jet Center.  The Jet Center is owned by Michael and Susan Hancock.  They are frequently at the Jet Center and it is not uncommon for one, or both, to personally greet you upon your arrival. The Jet Center is the premiere FBO throughout the Virgin Islands and to some accounts the entire Caribbean.  This is our starting point.

Our tour manager will meet you personally and walk you through the customs and immigration forms before our departure.  We will depart at 9:30 for the: 20 minute flight to Anegada.  However, on the way, we take you on a flightseeing trip over the majority of the islands that make up the Virgin Islands.  Departing we fly over the southern shore of St. Thomas and St. Johns.  You will see the popular Cruz Bay, magnificent Coral Bay and the natural harbor of Hurricane Hole.  Continuing east, you will see the Indian Rocks, Norman Island, Peter Island, Salt Island, Cooper Island and Ginger Island all on the south side of the airplane.  Meanwhile, Tortola and Beef Island will be on the north side of the airplane.  After Ginger Island, we turn north and fly over Fallen Jerusalem and the ever popular Virgin Gorda.  Finally, we will fly over the private islands, which are owned by Sir Richard Branson, of Moskito and Neker before we begin our final approach into Anegada.

After clearing immigration and customs, we will board our private air-conditioned shuttle, courtesy of Lil' Bits, the man, the legend.  A brief: 20 minute ride later, and after a brief stop to view the pink flamingos, we will arrive at our destination, Cow Wreck Beach.  Magnificent views of the coral blue waters of the north shore await you.  As well as snorkeling, kite boarding, ocean kayak, the hammock, and of course, the white sand beaches.  It is not uncommon for Richard Branson to show up unannounced as well.

Belle, the matriarch of this family owned business makes some of the best grilled spiny lobsters on the planet.  If you are not a lobster person, they do have a full menu as well as a well stocked bar.  However, the lobster is really why most people come to Anegada.  The entire island is protected by a natural coral reef.  This reef keeps the largest predator fish away from the inner shelf.  This natural barrier allows the lobster to simply thrive.  They are large, succulent and full of flavor.  We have had guests catch their own lobster and bring back to St. Thomas while on our trips.

When we return from Anegada, we will fly over Jost Van Dyke as well as the north shore of Tortola and the eastern smaller islands of the USVI.  Sometimes we are allowed to fly the north side of St. Thomas and sometimes air traffic control forces us to the south shore for our approach.  Either way, we finish the day with more flightseeting and a brief stop at U.S. Customs for our entry back into U.S. territory.  You leave us full of sun, full of food and full of memories.

Let Capitol Air be your day trip provider throughout the Caribbean.  Anegada is just one of the many trips we can provide for you.  Give us a call and we can build you a day full of memories.
